A shop that has heated up by mid-morning. An office where half the team is cold and the other half is too warm. A kitchen that never quite cools down. Commercial air conditioning in Elche has to put up with doors opening all day, with the heat given off by ovens, lights and machines, and with a bill at the end of the month. At Climazone we plan and install systems for commercial premises, starting from three things: how big the space is, how you actually use it and what it is going to consume.
What commercial air conditioning in Elche has to deal with
A business is not a flat with the same two or three people in it every evening. The load changes through the day, and the system has to follow it. These are the points that usually decide the design:
- People coming and going. A full shop on a Saturday and the same shop first thing on a Tuesday are two different jobs for the same equipment.
- Heat from inside. Hobs, ovens, display fridges, spotlights, screens and servers all add heat that nobody sees on a plan.
- Long hours. Equipment that runs all day needs to be sized with room to spare, not pushed to its limit every afternoon.
- Rooms used differently. A sales floor, a stockroom and a small office rarely want the same temperature at the same time.
- Noise and where the units go. Indoor units above a counter or a table, and the outdoor unit somewhere it can breathe without annoying the neighbours.
- Glazing and orientation. A shopfront in full sun is not the same as a unit at the back of a building.
Premises we work in
Shops and commercial units
The main issue is usually the door. Each time it opens, outside air comes in, and the system spends the day recovering. We look at where the air is thrown from, so the entrance is covered without blowing straight onto staff or customers.
Restaurants, bars and cafés
Here the kitchen sets the pace. The dining area, the bar and the kitchen have different needs, and they are often treated separately so one does not drag the other down.
Offices
Offices tend to need the temperature spread evenly rather than a lot of power in one spot. Meeting rooms, which fill up and empty again, usually want their own control.
Warehouses and workshops
Height, volume and what the space is for matter more than floor area. Sometimes the whole space is conditioned; often it is enough to treat the areas where people actually spend their time.
How we work, step by step
- Free professional advice. You tell us what the premises are like and what bothers you. No commitment at that point.
- A look at the place. Measurements, layout, orientation, glazing, sources of heat, where the outdoor unit could go and how the pipework can be run.
- How you use the space. Opening hours, busiest times, which rooms are in use and which are not, whether you also need heating in winter.
- Choice of system. One unit per area, or several indoor units on a single outdoor one. When premises have separate rooms, our multi-split installation service is often the sensible route, as each room is controlled on its own.
- A clear quote. What goes in, what work is involved and what is not included, with no surprises later.
- Installation. Agreed with you beforehand so it causes as little disruption to the business as possible.
- Handover. We leave it working, show you how to get the best out of the controls and explain what the equipment will need from then on.
Consumption: the decisions that end up on the bill
Most of what a commercial system costs to run is decided before anything is screwed to a wall. A few things we weigh up:
- Getting the capacity right. Equipment that is too small never catches up; equipment that is far too big starts and stops all day and wears itself out.
- Splitting the premises into areas. So you are not cooling a stockroom nobody has been into since this morning.
- Where the outdoor unit sits. With air around it and out of the worst of the sun, it works less hard for the same result.
- Winter as well as summer. A heat pump covers both, which often saves having two separate systems.
- Keeping it clean. Dirty filters and a system low on refrigerant gas quietly push consumption up.
What we need to get started
- Dimensions or a floor plan of the premises, if you have one. If not, we measure it ourselves.
- Your opening hours and the times the place is busiest.
- What each room is used for, and whether that is likely to change.
- Any existing equipment: what is there and whether it still works.
- Access to the façade, roof or courtyard where the outdoor unit would go.
- Whether you own the premises or rent them. Permissions from a landlord, the building’s owners’ association or the council depend on each case and on local rules, so it is worth checking before the work is booked in.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be installed without closing the business?
Often yes, by working in stages or at quieter times of the day. It depends on the premises, the type of system and how much pipework has to be run, so we talk it through and agree a plan with you before we start.
Is it better to have one large unit or several smaller ones?
It depends on how the space is divided and used. An open sales floor may be well served by one or two units; premises with a dining area, a kitchen and a small office usually work better with separate units that can be controlled independently. We tell you which option we would choose and why.
Will the same system heat the premises in winter?
A heat pump both cools and heats, so in most commercial premises one system covers the whole year. Whether that is the right choice for yours depends on the space and the use you make of it, and that is something we check during the visit.
If you are fitting out a new unit or your current equipment is not keeping up, tell us what the premises are like and what you need. Write to us from our contact page or call +34 965 465 068, and we will arrange a look round and a quote with no commitment. We work in homes and business premises alike, in Elche and the surrounding area.
